Link Microtek, the leading UK supplier of EMF (electromagnetic field) safety equipment, will be exhibiting a new hand-held instrument that provides health and safety professionals with an easy means of proving compliance with the EMF Directive, which comes into force in July 2016.
Manufactured by Narda Safety Test Solutions, the ELT-400 Model 107 exposure level tester is as straightforward to operate as a noise meter, displaying magnetic field strengths as a percentage of the High, Low and Limb Action Levels defined in the EMF Directive.
Covering a wide frequency range of 1Hz to 400kHz, the instrument features a rugged housing and will particularly appeal to industrial firms that use welding or non-destructive testing processes or other low-frequency/high-current equipment such as induction furnaces and dielectric heaters.
Also on show will be Narda’s NBM series of EMF meters. Operating over the frequency range 100kHz to 60GHz, they are designed for measuring field strengths in the vicinity of any telecoms, broadcast, industrial or military transmitter.
Rounding off the Link Microtek display will be the latest Nardalert S3 range of personal safety monitors, which emit visual, audible and vibration alarms to alert the user if field strength exceeds the exposure limits specified in the EMF Directive.
