Cause for celebration at Wearable Technologies

LEICESTERSHIRE-BASED Wearable Technologies Limited is delighted to be exhibiting at the Health & Safety Event this year.

EDIT

The company, which was originally co-funded by BP, also celebrated the first anniversary of its acquisition by the Blackline Safety Corp. group recently.

Blackline Safety is a global connected safety leader that helps to ensure every worker gets their job done and returns home safely each day. Blackline provides wearable safety technology, personal and area gas monitoring, cloud-connected software and data analytics to meet demanding safety challenges and increase organisational productivity.

Blackline acquired Wearable Technologies in February 2021, before graduating to the Toronto Stock Exchange in June of that year. Gavin Boorman, Managing Director Blackline Safety Europe commented, “The Wearable Technologies’ safety ecosystem targets the construction and light industrial market, complementing Blackline’s heavier industrial focus. Together, we have exciting product development plans, designed to serve the varied needs of our customers across more than 100 countries.”

Wearable Technologies produces a Connected Worker solution which takes real-time data from sensor devices worn by workers on proprietary ‘Smart Garments’ and displays it on a dashboard. The insights delivered enable management to make changes to processes and procedures to reduce risk, improve safety and increase productivity. Compatible sensors from many leading manufacturers measure noise, gas, proximity to moving vehicles, posture and vital signs in order to improve worker safety across a range of hazardous situations.

The company is also developing a range of ‘enhanced PPE’: safety clothing with embedded colour-changing LED lights. These can be set to flash or remain static and are visible at distances of 400 metres. The lights offer an added layer of protection for workers in dark, gloomy, dusty or confined spaces. Ideal for the construction industry among others, the washable high-vis vests are perfect for night-time or poor visibility projects where danger runs high such as motorway, offshore or railway construction works.

Global sales manager Lawrence Bryon commented, “We look forward to showcasing our products at the Health and Safety Show and are pleased to be located with our parent company. As part of the Blackline Safety Corp. group, we are committed to the shared ideal of connecting and protecting workers for a safer and more efficient workplace.” Find the companies at stand 4/N50.
