INVISTA’S CORDURA brand is showcasing support for the women’s workwear evolution, exhibiting brand collaborations such as Dickies, Dovetail and Crafter Collection, as well as introducing inspirational young workwear designer Stina Peters.
Stina Peters’ ‘Workwear Couture’ incorporates CORDURA fabrics for a fresh approach
Stina is working with CORDURA Advanced Fabrics to introduce youthful designs and inspirational concepts into today’s workwear for women.
Stina was a finalist for the Special Award Workwear Couture by Engelbert Strauss at Frankfurt Fashion Week. She chose CORDURA as she felt the fabrics combine strength, durability, versatility and sustainability at a high level.
She explains: “One of the most important aspects is the longevity of the fabrics. CORDURA fabrics have built-in durability which makes my designs for workwear even more sustainable. In today’s market, I saw little choice for women's clothing for physically demanding work. It is very important to me to promote the future of women’s workwear, because personal safety at work starts with suitable clothing that’s both functional and flexible. I like to collaborate with brands that enable workers to get the very best out of the garment.”

Dickies joins forces with CORDURA brand on women’s performance workwear
CORDURA Advanced Fabrics and global workwear brand Dickies have come together to introduce a new Performance Workwear collection for tradeswomen, featuring products designed to provide durability, all-day warmth, comfort and unrestricted movement
The Women's Performance Workwear Leggings provide both maximized comfort and range of motion. The CORDURA fabric knee and rear patches are enhanced with a DWR trim to provide extra integrity and protection to these sturdy leggings. The Women’s Universal FLEX Trousers – a version of the brand’s popular Universal FLEX Trouser designed specifically for women – incorporates Dickies’ FLEX fabric, and also features hardwearing CORDURA® brand fabric reinforcement in high wear areas such as the knee, for added protection and durability.
“Whether battling the elements on the farm, or the heat and dust on site and in the workshop, you are covered and protected. From UV protection, wind resistant and reflective materials, to DWR (Durable Water Repellent) and AWT (Advanced Waterproof Technology). Dickies Temp-iQ ensures heat and moisture regulation and materials such as CORDURA fabric toughen garments in just the right places” said Kevin Penney, Dickies Brand Marketing Manager EMEA.

Crafter Collection selects CORDURA fabrics to revolutionise the fit of women’s workwear
In the search for innovative fabrics that provide both durability and stretch, Crafter Collection discovered CORDURA; renowned as an innovative leader in producing advanced fabrics, known for their strength and durability.
Collaborating with CORDURA on all three of their women’s industry wear products, Crafter Collection selected two different kinds of CORDURA technologies. The Crafter Women’s workwear Trouser is crafted with a CORDURA NYCO fabric enhanced by Sapphire Mills MoveX technology. Whereas both the Crafter Women’s Multi Pocket Gilet and the Crafter Women’s Tool trouser, utilise both MoveX technology and CORDURA reinforcement on major stress areas.
Ashleigh Condliffe, head of Crafter comments: “The launch of Crafter Collection with a focus on women’s workwear came as a result of research, and ultimately discovering a true gap in the market. We found that there was a real lack of great women’s workwear that not only fits well but is highly durable. We wanted to provide women with a quality collection of key pieces that last, and that can survive the everyday demands of industry professions. Masters in versatile and durable fabrics, I believe that CORDURA️ were the perfect choice of fabric for the initial range of Crafter Collection.”

A new choice of workpants from USA women’s workwear specialist Dovetail
With the development of Supercharged Noir CORDURA Denim from Artistic Milliners, the denim company of the future: Dovetail, Artistic Milliners, and CORDURA were able to collaborate to deliver a tough, sustainable work pant – just like the women who wear them. This partnership marks the debut of Dovetail’s Maven and Britt styles powered by Noir “No Fade Black” CORDURA Denim.
By women, for women, and with women, Dovetail Workwear is both a young company and the largest exclusively women’s workwear company in the northern hemisphere. Based in Portland, OR, Dovetail Workwear makes all-season, all-reason utility apparel that stands up to the job. Workwear that in their own words is: ’fit for the job and capable of anything’ “Just like women,” says Sara DeLuca, co-founder, who tells how it all began:
“We build radical pieces out of need. Women tell us what they want, and we go from there. Our latest Maven and Britt style pants with ‘No Fade Black’ CORDURA Denim came from a request from our most hardcore customers, who asked for the toughest possible pant. At the same time, we were getting requests for a nonfading black pant, from women who work in tough roles as roadies, theatre techs, and film crew. These pants are up to four times stronger than regular cotton denim and have a comfy stretch. There’s also a built-in long-lasting softness that comes from the supple wood-based Lenzing TENCEL branded modal fibres used. These fibres come from a blend sustainable wood sources and that’s important, because sustainability is a key factor now for our customers.”
