Independent occupational health provider Trident Medical Services (TMS) has achieved three certifications demonstrating its commitment to cyber security and data protection.
TMS, based in Aldermaston, achieved both Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus certifications, and also certification to the revised IASME (Information Assurance for Small to Medium Enterprises) standard incorporating an assessment against the GDPR requirements.
Cyber Essentials is a government-backed, industry supported scheme to help organisations to protect themselves against cyber breaches and attacks.
TMS already held the Cyber Essentials certification (which is based on self-assessment) and has re-certified to this, but in addition it has now achieved Cyber Essentials Plus. This means it has gone through rigorous external assessments of its IT security measures.
The IASME Standard is an information assurance standard. TMS was already certified to this standard but has now re-certified to the revised version. This includes an assessment against the GDPR requirements. GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) comes into force on 25 May 2018 and organisations will need to change the way they collect, use and transfer personal data.
