Hazards in Metalworking – Welding and Abrasives

Welders and metalworkers are exposed to many hazards from welding fumes to hand-arm vibration and many more on a daily basis.

Manufacturing processes will require operators to use welding equipment and abrasive tools for weld preparation, welding, weld refinement and finishing on different materials. These tasks expose them to many hazards such as respiratory, noise, injury and vibration. Recent innovations in abrasives and PPE can provide an increased level of protection that help mitigate risks.

Health & Safety Managers have a critical part to play to ensure that welders and metalworkers follow safe procedures for the company in their manufacturing role. However, implementation of safe working practice can sometimes conflict with the production demands.

Join 3M Application Engineer’s Paul Spooner (PPE) and Theo Simon (Abrasives) to understand how advancements in consumables can improve safety and increase productivity in the workplace. In this webinar they will be covering both welding and abrasive hazards and how the choice of PPE and abrasives can help mitigate risks to help ensure a safe and productive workplace.
