Leeds-based Gauntlet Group has expanded its health and safety team thanks to significant growth in the last 18 months - one of the most dynamic periods in Gauntlet’s two decades of on-health and safety provision.
Gauntlet has created the strategic role of business development manager, to exploit the many opportunities available across its key sectors and to add a new dynamic to a team that has already proved how creating on-point solutions and approaches can better engage companies legally requiring robust risk management.
Since moving to new premises, in April 2015, Gauntlet has increased the focus on the health and safety function, encouraging the development of stand-alone projects, as well as the team’s continued contribution to the in-depth risk management underpinning Gauntlet’s successful motor and commercial insurance broking service.
This has enabled the team to create new ways of engaging businesses in health and safety, whilst also delivering tangible financial benefits that have increased health and safety’s relevance to firms primarily focused on figures.
Filling the new role of business development manager, Andrew Scott has 30 years’ experience in the health and safety and insurance markets, drawn from employment at Co-operative Insurance Society and at Allianz, in both the UK and India and, most recently, as a director of an independent health and safety consultancy based in Chorley. He joins Gauntlet’s health and safety manager, Gary Skews, and health and safety consultants James O’Brien and Brian Goulding.
