Shoes is preparing for continued
growth by opening an
automated logistics
centre, which is being
fitted out by automated
warehouse solution
provider, TGW.
The site in Sulingen,
Germany, which will
utilise TGW's conveyor
and storage technology, is comprised
of an automated 15 metre high miniload
warehouse with five aisles and a
storage capacity of 50,000 cartons.
"The combination of quality,
technical maturity and planned
reserve capacities at all parts of the
installation combined with intelligent
controls, convinced us that
TGW's equipment would fit
ideally with our own WMS
software," says head of
logistics at LLOYD, Manfred
Buschmeier.
He adds that "the IT
system optimises overall
efficiency as well as
personnel placement".
