A wireless in cab display showing
weighbridge weight is helping Craven
Grain Storage maximise the loading
of outbound vehicles. The Avery
Weigh-Tronix solution has halved
the manpower, increased the speed
and accuracy of loading, and improved
health and safety on the site.
Avery Weigh-Tronix developed a
wireless remote display unit to show
the weighbridge weight in the cab of
the loading vehicle. The unit is
mounted on the top of the windscreen
so the shovel driver can see the
weighbridge weight and look at the
shovel, while slowly tipping the load
into the trailer.
"The new system means we can
confidently load the vehicle to a
specified weight faster and free up
manpower for other critical tasks. It
also means that there is no need for
anyone to be around the weighbridge
area on foot during loading," says
Dale Payne, manager at Craven Grain.
