A newly published white paper, based on research carried out jointly by AC drive technology expert Vacon and global computer security provider F-Secure, provides a detailed and up-to-the-minute insight into security threats relating to industrial automation systems.

The paper, more than a year's work by Vacon and F-Secure, identifies and analyses the nature of the threats as well as proposing methods for increasing security.

After introducing the types of malware and security threats that relate to industrial automation systems, the white paper goes on to discuss the level of standardisation in information security.
