Keeping you safe in the workplace

TO ENSURE every person can stay safe when at work – Full Support have increased their flagship Easimask FFP3 respirator production to 5 million respirators a month.

EDIT-PN

While just about everyone knows the science behind face masks (or at least they should by now!) many people are still unaware of the difference between a face mask and a respirator.

Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) is used in a number of different settings and industries – as a last line of defence against potential hazards in the workplace. With the most common type being the FFP or filtering face piece.

These disposable respirator masks work by forming a tight-seal around the wearer’s nose and mouth (their ‘breathing zone’) so that when the wearer breathes in, the dirty air in the environment passes through the filter material and only clean air is breathed in to the lungs.

However, having the right equipment does not guarantee protection. For example, a seal might not be formed if the respirator hasn’t been fit tested on the individual, it wasn’t put on correctly, or if the wearer has facial hair.

If a tight-seal is not formed, potentially lethal hazardous particles in the air could be breathed in, causing ill-health, latent respiratory conditions or even death.

Due to the pandemic, and a sudden increased need for respirators, earlier this year we saw a massive increase in unsuitable ‘respirators’ and a sharp increase in dangerous practices – such as wearers not being fit tested, or wearing unsuitable RPE.

To ensure every person can stay safe when at work – Full Support have increased their flagship Easimask FFP3 respirator production to 5 million respirators a month.

This disposable, tight-fitting P3 respirator is widely used across the NHS as well as a range of different industries utilising hypoallergenic materials, a non-latex seal and a pre-shaped design to fit snuggly on any wearer’s face. Furthermore, the Easimask’s unvalved design offers total two-way protection, keeping workers safe from external hazards and each other – ideal for keeping workers safe during the pandemic.

Through extended testing and user feedback we’ve seen a 93% fit test pass rate using the quantitative (PortaCount) method.
