Kitchen hygiene workshop

Leading health practitioners from blue chip companies, specialist food safety consultants and the public sector gathered last month to enhance their understanding of commercial kitchen ventilation and earn CPD hours.

Hosted by Network Hygiene and accredited by the Charted Institute of Environmental Health, the event featured a host of high calibre speakers including Subash Ludhra, past president of IOSH, who explained the legal aspects for cleaning hoods and duct work.

In another presentation entitled 'An insider view of kitchen hygiene', Ian Mckay, managing director of Network Hygiene and former executive director at Compass Group, explained that there should be no compromise when it comes to health and safety standards and risks in the kitchen, particularly when those risks are unseen and easier to ignore.
