MACHINE SAFETY, the partnership between Machine Covers Limited and ISS Safety Limited, will again be exhibiting at the Health and Safety Event.
Following the successful launch of the Spider lathe polishing tool at last year’s event, the product will this year be demonstrated on a working lathe, giving visitors the opportunity to see the benefits of this innovative safety device in action.
Serious accidents can be caused by the use of hand-held emery cloth on manual metalworking lathes, resulting in injury and even death. Emery cloth should never be applied directly by hand and thanks to the Spider tool there is now a safer way to sand or polish components based on the guidelines available from the HSE.
The Spider provides controlled and accurate deburring, polishing, sanding or sizing of a wide range of cylindrical, tapered and threaded metal, alloy or wooden components without the use of hands, in accordance with ISO 23125 Standards 6.2.1 (no use of hands during working operations). The product has been extremely successful and Machine Safety has seen demand increase significantly since its launch.
“During the past year sales have gone from strength to strength and we have many satisfied customers,” says Greg Powles, Director. “The Spider has proved to be highly reliable with no reported failures – in fact our customers are saying that it’s the most robust and user friendly polishing tool they have tried.”
The product is available in two sizes – the Spider 50 and the larger Spider 75. Both are now stock items available for immediate delivery.
