Martor receives ergonomic certification

Martor is the first knife manufacturer to bear the recognised IGR seal of quality. 

The three Martor knives submitted for testing are classified as ‘exceptionally ergonomic’ by the Nuremberg Institute for Health and Ergonomics (IGR e.V.) They are: SECUPRO 625,

SECUPRO MARTEGO, and

SECUPRO MERAK.

According to IGR, a product can only be certified as ‘ergonomic’ when it is optimally adapted ‘to the physical characteristics of the test people’. For safety knives, this means they should fit comfortably in the hand and be pleasant to use, even for long periods of time. 

The IGR-certified Martor knives are used in production and logistics; perfectly designed for cutting materials off a reel, floor coverings, cardboard, film and strapping. Their blades instantly retract back into the handle as soon as they leave the cutting material, even when the user continues to press the lever. 

This offers users automatic protection against cutting injuries. The IGR testers also evaluated the blade-changing process. They concluded that here,too, Martor has prioritised user comfort and ergonomic usability.
