QHSE specialist Airsweb has released its Permit to Work modular software platform to the general market, following a successful pilot with leading glass manufacturer NGF Europe.
Airsweb Permit to Work is designed to enable full management control of potentially hazardous tasks. According to Airsweb, a key feature is its capability to create specific job templates for tasks such as working in heat, confined spaces, and manage the conditions necessary for working at height.
The pilot went live in 2012 to coincide with a major NGF construction project in Lea Green, an environment suited to the solution's core functionality.
Paul Shacklady, EHS manager at NGF Europe recently commented on the outcome of the pilot: "We went live with the module in 2012 just in time for a major CDM (construction, design and management) project at Lea Green. The Permit to Work module proved an asset in controlling large amounts of contractors across a host of disciplines. We are currently in the throes of developing the Permit to Work module further to include a contractor database."
