Industrial fluid monitoring and analysis instrumentation specialist Salunda has appointed a new director to oversee sales and drive global growth of its range of analysers and sensors.
Gerard Cooke joins as sales director based at Salunda’s Oxford head office, where he will be responsible for international sales and new business development, account management and the development of collaborative partnerships and ventures.
Reporting to managing director Alan Finlay and bringing 25 years’ sales experience to this key position, including six years with a UK oil and gas instrumentation firm, his task will be to grow the company’s presence in the oil and gas, industrial processing and manufacturing sectors.
Alan Finlay said: “Our strategy of investing in the best people is paying dividends at a time of huge potential for Salunda and its technologies in global markets. Gerard will play an important role in driving our strategy and securing interest in our technologies, which meet market needs and deliver genuine innovation.”
Salunda’s range of advanced analysers and sensors includes MudChecker is the first handheld instrument of its type and consistent and repeatable results are quickly displayed on an integral LCD screen to indicate percentage oil, solid and water volumes. It also records the oil/water ratio (OWR), oil/brine ratio (OBR) and water-phase salinity. Control of these parameters can be critical for kick detection, as well avoiding wellbore collapse, that might otherwise result in equipment loss or damage, and non-productive time (NPT).
DieselProve is designed to provide a fast and simple diagnostic tool to assess the biofuel content in biodiesel fuels, as well as identifying other impurities such as vegetable oil, white spirit and water. To meet this need, the technology utilises patented technology to exploit the electromagnetic properties of the fuel under test to detect the level of biodiesel present.
Salunda has established a reputation as experts in rapidly delivering robust monitoring solutions for harsh environments, which ensure a safer workplace, improve efficiency and reduce non-productive time during drilling. The company is bringing innovative products to market for monitoring of fluids during exploration.
