Many work related accidents are caused by slips or trips. Slips at a height can lead to even more serious injuries. Safety footwear is tested for slip resistance to EN ISO 13287. Tests are conducted in two different categories; oil on steel surfaces and a soap solution on a ceramic surface.

With this in mind, slip resistance was a decisive factor when Mascot developed its safety footwear which was launched in 2010. The two sole types launched met the demands of both the soap on ceramic (SRA) and oil on steel (SRB) thereby obtaining an automatic SRC recognition - the best standard for slip resistance.

Building on this, in January this year the company launched three new pairs of safety shoes which are all SRC recognised. The newly developed sole is more flexible because it is made of a very soft and supple rubber material.

This means good contact with the surface you are on, and therefore less risk of slipping or falling.
