Recognition for technology

Guardian24 has won ‘Best Deployment of Lone Worker Technology’ at the Security & Fire Excellence Awards 2015 held at Hilton’s Park Lane Hotel, London.

The award recognises the outstanding contribution to lone worker protection as deployed by one of Guardian24’s key clients, Macmillan Cancer Support.

The award, presented by host Jimmy Carr in front of over 1,000 leading professionals in the world of security was received by Guardian24’s sales director Paul Watson.

Now in their 17th year, the Security Excellence Awards are widely recognised as the ‘Oscars’ for both the security and fire industry sectors. The awards highlight the very best people, projects and processes the UK’s security sector has to offer.

The 23-strong independent judging panel, made up from security industry experts, determined that Macmillan Cancer Support’s deployment of Guardian24’s lone worker protection solution surpassed all other entries.

At present, Guardian24’s lone worker safety service is being utilised by Macmillan’s Direct Volunteering Services teams – both staff and volunteers who support service users within their own homes.

Neil Morter, safeguarding manager for Macmillan Cancer Support, said: “The most noticeable benefit has been seen in our retention and increase in numbers of our volunteers for the sole reason that they feel support and protected 7 days a week, beyond usual office hours."
