LoneWorker Manager is a feature-rich, BS8484 Gold certified, web-based protection system. It connects lone workers, via dedicated devices and user-friendly apps to Mitec, a state-of-the-art alarm receive centre (ARC). Using GPS the platform can locate workers wherever they are in the world ensuring that in an emergency, help can reach them immediately.
Device agnostic, user-friendly
Lone Worker Manager is completely device agnostic; it supports Windows, iOS, and Android smartphones; BlackBerry and standard mobile phones; dedicated devices; satellite phones, and it also works on desktops and laptops. No other platform supports such a broad range of devices.

Training and simple systems increase user confidence
Historically, the lone worker industry has a poor track record of end-users actually exploiting technology when it is deployed. Often the problem has been attributable to end-users not becoming comfortable with the technology at the beginning of deployment. This means they are reluctant to use systems and unsure of what might happen. At Lone Worker Solutions, we have developed an intuitive platform that puts end-users first. The simple and effective rollout programme breaks through the fear barrier at the outset increasing confidence among end-users.
LoneWorker Manager allows health and safety staff to set up individual profiles for each lone worker – even if they sometimes share a device – defining the exact engagement, monitoring and escalation protocols that will suit their needs. The platform provides an accurate cross-device snapshot of system activity. In addition, it offers precise and prompt reporting that ensures compliance with UK Health and Safety Executive requirements, promotes health and safety, and facilitates auditing and corporate governance.

Emergency, proactive and reactive support in one bundle
Push4Help is a fast and simple feature that works with any device with a speed dial facility.
RED ALERT. In a crisis your lone worker simply pushes the pre-set button or icon to raise the alarm. This connects them instantly to the LoneWorker Manager platform, which will identify the person, their location and what support is required for that individual.
AMBER ALERT. Amber lets your lone worker leave a voice message to tell you exactly where they are, in case an emergency situation arises. This can give particular peace of mind to lone workers in the field or people working alone in large office buildings or outside of normal working hours.
Proactive Support: Lone Worker Down
Lone Worker Down activates built-in motion sensors in mobile handsets, monitoring the movement of the handset and its orientation. If for example, the handset detects a sudden impact this could indicate a fall or incident. LoneWorker Manager then automatically raises an alert with the ARC, the lone worker’s location will be identified using GPS. If the person cannot be contacted via his or her handset emergency services can be quickly dispatched to the worker’s location.
Proactive Support: Heartbeat
Heartbeat sends a voice, text or email message at pre-set intervals according to the user’s personal risk assessment. The message requests an identity code to confirm that the individual is ‘OK’. If all is well, the system resets until the next message response is due. If no response is received within the time frame, the system goes into alert mode and connects to the ARC where staff manage the alert through agreed escalation procedures. Contacting the emergency services if required via Unique Reference Number (by-passing ‘999’ call centres).

Introducing Broadcast Messaging
As well as adapting the existing platform, Lone Worker Solutions have introduced a new feature: Broadcast Messaging. This has been specifically designed to meet the needs of American Water. In the event of an emergency such as a terror alert, natural disaster, or extreme weather – the technology allows critical messages to be sent through the LoneWorker Manager app. Messages can be targeted at specific individuals or a pre-defined user group, or to users within a given radius from a central point. This innovation has far-reaching possibilities in lone worker safety.
