Lone Worker Solutions (LWS), has once again achieved the coveted Secured by Design Award for its proprietary middleware LoneWorker Manager.
Launched by the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO), Secured by Design recognizes and approves products created specifically to improve safety.
LWS designed LoneWorker Manager to be the most feature rich and versatile protection system on the market. The platform supports the widest possible range of dedicated devices, desktop and smartphone apps (Android, iOS and Windows), as well as providing short dial programming for standard mobiles and Blackberry devices.
LoneWorker Manager is a multi-functional, secure web-based management system that communicates with a suite of integrated safety applications, offering organisations complete protection for lone workers. This proprietary platform provides an in-depth BS8484 Gold certified and resilient global safety system that protects and monitors lone workers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The portal gives clients an accurate cross-device snapshot of system activity. Also, it offers precise and prompt reporting that ensures compliance with health and safety legislation requirements, promotes health and safety, and facilitates auditing and corporate governance.
Secured by Design is the initiative owned by the ACPO that aims to reduce crime through effective environmental design. The scheme also calls for the installation of security products that meet police-approved standards. Manufacturers and installers whose products have been certified by an accredited testing body to the specified standards, can apply for Secured by Design membership and license to utilise the scheme’s logo.
The Secured by Design logo is the only symbol that guarantees national Police approval of a product, providing architects, planners, specifiers, builders and end customers with reassurance that it provides a realistic level of resistance to criminal attack. It is widely recognised within the building industry and is increasingly being listed as a mandatory requirement in tenders.
Utilising Secured by Design accredited products helps meet the Crime and Disorder Act and for developers to demonstrate what they are doing to reduce crime. Planners recognise the effectiveness of Secured by Design and creating a development that is SBD compliant and/or utilises SBD-accredited building and security products is a quick and simple way to ensure compliance with new guidelines. Consumers and specifiers are also recognising that SBD provides an easy route to help identify which of the many technical standards indicates a product is an effective crime prevention measure.
Lone Worker Solutions said: "Gaining Secured by Design approval for LoneWorker Manager is a significant achievement, demonstrating our commitment to safety and sustainability and providing our valued customers with reassurance that our product matches performance claims.
"Secured by Design accreditation provides LoneWorker Manager with a unique competitive advantage and reiterates its status as a first-class product."
