More than half (60 per cent) of managers in charge of company workwear have received complaints from staff about their lack of comfort, despite 70 per cent recognising that ill-fitting workwear can have a negative impact on staff morale.
The findings followed a survey of over 2,000 professionals by Silverbuck, specialists in workwear and personal protective equipment.
The company, part of the Anchorpoint Group, also found that one in five of the managers surveyed believed their current workwear was below acceptable standard and one in every four felt it did not promote their corporate brand as effectively as it should. In addition, 80 per cent said they experienced difficulties in sourcing workwear to meet deadlines.
Dale Paterson, MD of the Anchorpoint Group, said: “From our discussions with new and prospective clients we knew about the issues highlighted by the survey, but we were very surprised by the scale of some of these problems.
“On a positive note, the research highlighted want-to-wear workwear as a potential solution with 80 per cent of the managers believing this has a positive impact on staff performance and three quarters saying it would be good for employees to make use of such workwear.”
Silverbuck’s service includes advising clients on tailored solutions, supplying suites of desirable workwear that make a positive difference to people and productivity.
