BSI Kite Mark for its new E-series
fire extinguisher. The
product operates in the
same way as other
hand held
extinguishers, but uses
patented technology
that creates a superfine
mist using nothing but
purified water.

The size of the ultra
fine particles means it is versatile and
suitable for use against most types of
fire, even on fuel fires and electrical
risks. The E-series extinguisher has
also been given an F-class rating,
which certifies its safe use on fat fires
commonly found in kitchens.
Jewel's technical director Keith
Holmes said: "As well as
being safer for users in
offices, hotels, shops
and any other place of
work, the product
causes no further
residual or
environmental damage
to the surrounding
areas, unlike current
powders or foams."
