results of a clinical trial that
commenced in January 2010 within
two NHS hospitals.
Germguard was trialled against
Achticlor+, (a chlorine releasing agent)
and the most widely used disinfectant
cleaner used by the two hospitals.
Germguard, being chlorine free,
was cited in the trial as being an
important find, as no loss of cleaning
efficiency was reported, and chlorine
releasing agents, (such as Actichlor+)
have been associated with
hypersensitivity reactions from staff.
Free chlorine, being a strong oxidising
agent, can also damage medical
devices and the environment.
The study, therefore provides
evidence that Germguard can replace
chlorine releasing agents without the
loss of cleaning efficiency.
