Zoe Brunswick, human resources director at environmental consultancy RSK, has won a REBA Employee Wellbeing Vanguard Award at the inaugural Employee Wellbeing Awards 2018.
The REBA Employee Wellbeing Vanguard Awards were open to human resources and wellbeing professionals who champion wellbeing within their organisation. The finalists were assessed on how they lead the way in implementing a successful wellbeing agenda. Zoe was announced a winner at an exclusive ceremony held at the Ham Yard Hotel in London, UK, for representatives from 40 organisations that submitted 80 entries for the 11 award categories. RSK was also shortlisted in the Employee Wellbeing Award for Physical Wellbeing.
Zoe joined RSK, which now employs more than 2000 people worldwide, in 2007, and has been instrumental in setting up a hugely successful Health and Wellbeing Initiative with which all in the company can engage. As human resources director, Zoe leads RSK’s health and wellbeing programme, which includes mental, social and emotional as well as physical wellbeing.
Zoe won a Vanguard Award for her leadership on employee wellbeing, which led her to launch a company-wide scheme in February 2015 that has seen employees take part in seven events over the last three years. This includes Healthy Heart Month, Let’s do Lunch, Give a thought to sport, Mindfulness Month, Diversity Day, Pedometer Challenge and Stress Awareness Month. RSK also started its latest health and wellbeing event in February 2018, a third Pedometer Challenge.
The panel of judges recognised Zoe’s leadership and commitment to employee wellbeing, which has brought RSK’s offices across the UK, Ireland, Europe, Middle East, North Africa and Asia together as one, from a high standard of entries.
Presented by the Reward & Employee Benefits Association (REBA), the awards hope to play a part in spreading best practice by identifying and sharing good employee wellbeing in practice.
“I think that the Employee Wellbeing Awards are important to give employers recognition that they care about their people,” says Zoe. “This is really positive, both internally to current employees and externally, as it enables businesses to attract and recruit the highest-calibre candidates.”
Since joining RSK, Zoe has also introduced the RSK graduate scheme, progressed an online induction programme to help integrate new starters and introduced an absence management policy, which has reduced working time lost to absence to less than 2% a year.
