The Society of Food
Hygiene and Technology
has given its Best New
Product award to the
hygiene product, Byotrol,
which has proved very
effective not just in the food
hygiene industry, but also in
hospitals and businesses.
Judges at the award
ceremony praised Byotrol's
technology and properties,
which are reported to make
it 30% more effective in
combating hospital
superbugs than the current
NHS gold standard cleaning
products. These results were
gained from a trial at the
Manchester Royal Infirmary
in June 2009.
Byotrol uses water-based
micro-polymer technology
which forms an invisible
layer on any surface, be it
hands, workstations or
hospital floors. Despite
being safe to the touch (it
contains no alcohol or
bleach) it protects surfaces
from bugs and bacteria for a
minimum of 24 hours.
